Almost a year ago, my friend and amazing past employee and colleague Alysia of Begonia Moon decided to take a trip to NYC and enrol in an afternoon workshop with flower ICONS Nicolette Camille and Sarah Ryhanen at Little Flower School.
I had been pining over this session for years, and so many people I know had taken sessions with Little Flower School, so we decided to wait no longer and sprang for the tickets!
Needless to say, we spent a few extra days in BK going to the Chelsea Flower Market and Flower District. We had an amazing time and designed with some really, really incredible flowers. Here are ur beautiful images from GENTYL + HYERS.
I would absolutely LOVE to take this workshop again and again and again, and immerse myself in these incredible ladies world.
It was surreal, and nothing short of incredible.

PSA: It is my official goal to open a flower school in this city.
My original business model was based on a full-time flower school with a few events polka-dotted throughout the year to pay the bills if no one signed up.
Almost 4 years later and we are running lots of workshops at the shop in the off season, but there are not enough of us to have my school a reality for right this moment but trust me, I am making this happen in 2017 ( possibly even later 2016)
Finally, we offered a weekend Floral Intensive: more than just a casual workshop... essentially built for florists and designers alike. I've always wanted to offer a workshop for each season, Fall being my favorite.
Bloom Sessions was just what I wanted it to be! We held in the fall of 2015, hosted at The Briar's Resort on Lake Simcoe.
We wanted to create a fun and magical weekend for aspiring florists to join us in learning a garden style compote design for tabletop, and a bridal bouquet and personal flowers.
We invited our good friends Tara and her employee Barb of Tara McMullen Photography to join us and document the work. I think they did a pretty fantastic job of it, don't you?!
Hair and Makeup for our model Michelle was by our friend Ashley Readings, and the beautiful silk pants suitshe is wearing under that pretty blue coat (thanks Barb!) is from Loversland ( And For Love is the designer).
The fabulous aprons were purchased from Portland Apron Co as part of our Welcome Baskets and we all really just loved them.
Huge thanks to my amazing BB girls Lara and Alysia for helping assist me and orchestrate this workshop. You guys were fantastic assistants!
And of course to Tara and Barb, Ashley Readings, and our model Michelle, Plate Occasions, Loversland and The Loved One and Blair Nadeau: for your contributions!
Most importantly, thank you to everyone who joined us and invested in this weekend of flowers and learning.
We had an amazing time and can not wait for the next one! ( Hint Hint: hopefully coming this fall!)
Will you just look at the magic that was created by our amazing attendees?!!

This year I decided to invest in something wonderful.
On a ranch.
With yoga. Wine. Flowers. California.
And, I am so, so, SO glad I invested in myself and my business with this amazing journey.
I met so many wonderful + crazy talented flower friends, who I hope will be present in my life from now on.
Take a look at the amazing captures from my weekend in San Inez this ( well, last!) February.
Models: Newmark Models
Hair and Makeup: Amy Clarke
Dresses: Samuelle Couture
I miss this time so much, and I can't wait to see all of my flower friends again sometime soon!
Huge thank you to Kate and her team for a wonderful time in sunny Cali, the place I feel I was born to be.
Your encouragement and validation of Blush and Bloom mean so much! xo

An amazing Workshop experience unique to its kind is coming to Toronto, and hosted by some pretty amazing people!
A bit of detail:
What is the Cherish Workshop
Hosted by Laura Olsen Events and Koby & Terilyn of Archetype Photography, the Cherish Workshop is two full days of interactive learning focused on how to style and photograph events.
Cherish will be limited in group size to ensure the opportunity to offer intimate learning sessions, ask questions, foster relationships, and gain exposure to vendors across the continents. This inspirational two day event features the very best the wedding industry has to offer, whether you are an aspiring or established wedding creative. From speakers to schedule, surprises to scenery, this is a must do in the beautiful world of weddings
What makes the Cherish Workshop unique?
Its detail focused classes, styling stations for hands on learning, and one-on-one coaching. Each class is focused on a single topic, such as menswear, stationery, florals and more. Attendees will have one-on-one coaching with the instructors to ask questions and receive guidance and tips as they work.
For example, in the Stationery Class, each attendee will have their own work station complete with a tickle trunk full of pretty trinkets to pair with a stunning invitation suite. Hands on practice to style the suite along with one-on-one coaching from the instructors as you develop your skill. Whether you’re a pro with a camera, or learning on your iPhone you’ll learn how to capture a moment with the best light with the tools you have.
Our setting will be the very exceptional Graydon Hall Manor where we will spend two days creating, styling, and photographing gorgeous styled shoots; gleaning all the tips and expertise from our sponsors along the way.
Please visit the WEBSITE for more information on Contacts, Speakers, Investment and Registration.
We really hope you'll be joining us!

hello there sweet friends and people,
A few weeks back I had the pleasure of teaching a DIY Flower crown workshop at Bicyclette and I am so glad Paige came up with this idea!
We had been waiting for nice warm weather to have the class as a bit of a switch up from our regular DIY floral workshop, and we couldn't have asked for a better turnout~ or for a more fun night.
Thanks to Paige and the Bicyclette girls as usual for hosting us, and to my sweet friend Cindy who took the class and also supplied us with some fabulous delicious treats from The Wedding Cake Shoppe. And of course, to Beaus & Belles for sticking around and capturing the pretty crowns that these wonderful ladies made!
More to come for flower crown classes... if I can just find a way to be in a few places at once. we had way to much fun not to do it again! Thanks to all of the sweet ladies who made it out! you rocked it!
